Website Support Plan: Who Looks After Launch?
Website, security, and technology consulting for businesses.

A website support plan assigns responsibility for the work that continues after launch. Services change, forms need checking, and someone must decide which requests belong in routine support and which need a separate project. A finished homepage does not answer those operational questions.
For an owner in Josephine or Farmersville, the useful starting point is a responsibility list. Who changes opening hours? Who investigates a missing inquiry? Who approves a new page? When these answers are missing, small website problems can remain unresolved even when the business pays for hosting.
Build a website support plan around actual tasks
List the requests you have made during the last few months, or expect to make after launch. Separate routine corrections from new functionality. Updating a staff biography is a different task from connecting a booking system, and each may need different information and testing.
Give each request a business reason. “Customers are calling the old number on our contact page” is easier to prioritize than “the website needs attention.” Include the affected URL, the correct information, and the person who can approve the change. Clear requests reduce avoidable back-and-forth.
What Ruby can help you discuss
Sanctus positions Ruby as essential support, with a monthly website checkup, two support requests, a content or SEO adjustment, and a consulting call. Check the current consulting tiers for the full offer and terms before choosing a plan.
A conversation about Ruby should establish what counts as a request, what materials the business supplies, and how larger work is estimated. Do not assume a recurring support arrangement includes a redesign, unlimited revisions, or every third-party subscription. Define the agreement around the tasks you actually need handled.
Use a simple monthly review
At the start of the month, identify the most important customer journey. A service business in Greenville might prioritize quote requests; a small organization in McKinney might prioritize registrations. Review that journey with a real device and an approved test rather than judging only the homepage appearance.
Keep a short record of what was checked, what changed, and what remains open. A useful note might say that the contact recipient changed, a test arrived, and the owner approved the confirmation message. That is more actionable than a vague statement that the site was reviewed.
Agree on boundaries and escalation
Clarify how urgent issues are reported and when a response can be expected under the actual agreement. Do not interpret a monthly call as continuous monitoring or assume that every service is available around the clock. Ask what happens if the person approving changes is unavailable.
Consulting support for web systems is distinct from managing an entire office network or repairing equipment. If your business needs those services too, identify the responsible provider and how the providers will coordinate. Sanctus’s published consulting scope excludes full MSP and hardware support.
Prepare for a useful first call
- Bring the website address and a list of recurring problems.
- Identify the person who owns domain, hosting, and content decisions.
- Explain how customers contact you and who responds.
- List paid tools and known renewal dates without sharing credentials.
- Choose one outcome you want from the first month.
An ongoing plan should make responsibilities easier to understand. Ask Sanctus Solutions to compare your needs with the current consulting options, including Ruby where appropriate. Paid Chamber members still have their included default page and setup call; an ongoing consulting bundle is a separate service.
Keep one shared request list so the owner and provider can distinguish urgent corrections from improvements planned for a later review.
